Ms. Alis is originally from Los Angeles, California. She completed her undergraduate studies in Linguistics and French at the University of California Irvine. She also holds a MA in Linguistics: Language and Culture in Europe, from Linköpings Universitet. Prior to joining IEGS she taught in both France and Sweden.

Mr. Armstrong, Maths, Business, Head of King House
Mr. Armstrong has worked for Internationella Engelska Skolan since 1993. He holds a BA in Economics (University of Victoria) and a teaching degree from the University of Alberta, Canada. He currently teaches Maths and Economics.

Ms. Berry, English
Ms. Berry is a licensed secondary English teacher. She holds an MA in International Management Studies and an MA in Education. She has taught in the U.S., Japan, Albania, and Laos before coming to Sweden. She currently teaches English in the Swedish and IB programmes.

Mr. Bjarnestam, Geography and History
Mr. Bjarnestam is a Licentiate in Geography from Uppsala University. In his research Mr. Bjarnestam has focused on urban geography, perceptions of urban sustainable development and the planning process of the new Slussen area in Södermalm. He also holds a Master´s Degree in Geography, History and History of Religions from the universities in Stockholm and Uppsala, as well as being a licensed gymnasium teacher with a degree from the Stockholm Institute of Education, Lärarhögskolan.

Ms. Bogren, Theater
Ms. Bogren is a qualified theatre teacher who studied theatre at Stockholm University and Mälardalens Högskola in Eskilstuna. She has taught drama for ten years and has acted and directed many plays in the Stockholm region.

Mr. Davis, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Mr. Davis has BSc with majors in Environmental Science (Environmental Physics and Toxicology) from Lincoln University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from Christchurch College of Education. Mr. Davis moved to Stockholm in late 2014 from South Otago in New Zealand. He has taught Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture in Nelson, South Otago and the Far North of Queensland in Australia.

Ms. Doiron is originally from Ottawa, Canada. She has an Honours BSc with Specialisation in Biology and a minor in French as a Second Language from the University of Ottawa. She also has a Bachelor of Education from Queens University where she became a qualified teacher for Biology and Chemistry at the Intermediate-Senior level. She has prior teaching experience from high schools in Ottawa, Canada and in Vienna, Austria.

Mr. Foster, Physical Education, Pedagogical Leadership and Head of Aesthetics Department
Mr. Foster has a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Education from Griffith University, Australia. He has taught in Australia and the UK before coming to Sweden.

Dr. Glossner, Chemistry
Dr Glossner did his bachelor's degree in chemistry at Hamilton College, New York in 2006 and completed his PhD in geochemistry at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado in 2013. His research focused on the competition between different metabolic groups of microorganisms converting coal to methane, and the microbiological effects of carbon sequestration. He has lived in Sweden since 2013.

Ms. Granlund, Natural Science and Biology
Ms. Granlund has a Master of Education in English and Biology from Lärarhögskolan/Stockholm University. In addition to Biology, she has studied Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science to be qualified to teach Science Studies as well. Ms. Granlund teaches Biology, Science and GYAR at IEGS and is a qualified teacher.

Ms. Grant, IB English and Philosophy
Ms. Grant is originally from Vancouver, Canada where she completed her undergraduate studies in English Literature at Simon Fraser University. After working as an Educational Consultant at an award winning practice for two years, she attended Canada’s only IB-recognized teacher education program at the University of British Columbia, where she specialized in IB-DP English Literature. Prior to joining IEGS, she taught at two esteemed International IB schools in Canada. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education through distance education from Thompson Rivers University.

Ms. Hall, English, History and Culture of Ideas
Ms. Hall graduated from the Institute of Educating, London University, in 1992 as a History Teacher. She has taught in inner London, working in a variety of different roles. In 2008 Ms. Hall became an Assistant Head Teacher taking responsibility for both the curriculum and pastoral areas. Ms. Hall is currently the Student Care Coordinator and teaches Culture and History of Ideas.

Mr. Hull, Maths and Head of Math Department
Mr. Hull has a Bsc(Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Manchester in the UK. He gained Qualified Teacher Status from the University of London and has over 10 years experience teaching mathematics in the UK, Middle East and East Africa. He was previously the Head of Mathematics at an International School in Kenya, Nairobi. He also holds a CELTA qualification which entitles him to teach English as a foreign language.

Mr. Jansson, Swedish as a Second Language
Mr. Jansson is currently teaching Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at IEGS. He has also taught students at Lärarhögskolan i Stockholm from 1999 to 2004.

Mr. Grape Junkka, Drama
Mr. Junkka is a qualified theatre teacher who studied theatre at Uppsala University and Stockholm University. He also studied theatre pedagogy in Norrköping. He has acted in and directed numerous plays and has been involved in free theatre groups in Norrköping and in Stockholm.

Dr. Grönstedt, English
Dr. Grönstedt is originally from Kramfors, Sweden. She completed her BA in modern history and literature at Queen's University, Belfast. She holds an MA in modern literature and a PhD in eighteenth-century English literature, from Queen's. She is also a qualified upper secondary teacher in English and history, with a master degree from Luleå Tekniska Universitet. Prior to joining IEGS she taught in Northern Ireland and Belgium.

Mr. Kühn, Art and Physical Education
Mr. Kühn was born in South Africa and studied Physical Education and Geography at the University of Pretoria. He completed his Higher Educational Diploma at the University of Pretoria in 1992. Following this Mr. Kühn completed a postgraduate in Psychology at the University of South Africa. In 2001 Mr. Kühn moved to Sweden and took part in various courses in Art and Form and is currently also working as a professional artist.

Ms. Larsson, Swedish
Ms Larsson is an upper secondary teacher in Swedish and History with a degree from the Stockholm Institute of Education, Lärarhögskolan. She also holds a master in Curriculum Studies, with focus on Assessment from Uppsala University. Before she started teaching at IEGS, she taught Swedish at Jagellonian University in Cracow, Poland for four years.

Mr Mahadeo, Physical Education and Pedagogical Leadership
Mr Mahadeo has an Honours Degree in Science with a specialisation in Exercise Physiology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. He has also attained an undergraduate qualification in Sports Management & Coaching along with being a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength Conditioning Association (NSCA) in the US. He is a qualified teacher, since 2005, having taught in South Africa and the UK.

Mr. McElwaine, History and Head of Social Sciences and Law Department
Mr. McElwaine is from Northern Ireland. He has a BA in Modern History and English Literature from the University of Oxford. Mr. McElwaine also completed his teacher training at Oxford. He taught in both the UK and Spain before moving to Stockholm.

Ms. Moses, French and Spanish
Ms. Moses is a qualified teacher from Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in French, Italian, Spanish and minors in Politics and Hebrew from the University of Cape Town, an Honours degree in Modern foreign languages, specializing in Italian language, literature and translation, and a dual masters degree in Spanish focusing on the teaching and learning of Spanish in international and multicultural contexts from the Universities of Deusto (Bilbao), Pompeu Fabra and Barcelona (Spain), as well as the University of Stockholm. Aviva taught Spanish, Italian and French at international schools and language academies in South Africa prior to coming to IEGS. She is also a qualified translator and simultaneous interpreter from Spanish and Italian to English.

Ms. Muchardt Smith, History
Ms. Muchardt Smith holds a BSc (Econ) in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mr. Richardson, Maths and Physics
After initially teaching Physics in the UK, Mr. Richardson worked for three years in the nuclear power industry, then spent 30 years in Germany and the US working for Hewlett-Packard in various marketing and management roles in the IT industry before returning to the UK in 2010 to teach Physics, Electronics and Astrophysics to pre-University students. Since moving to Sweden in 2013, he has been active in the Stockholm Astronomy community and as a presenter of popular Astronomy, he has a Swedish radio callsign (SA0KJI) and holds a BSc in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of London.

Ms. Rukalski, French, Italian and Spanish
Ms. Rukalski has a Master Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures, with a specialization in communication processes from the University of Parma, Italy. She obtained her teaching qualifications at Stockholm University (VAL-Projekt) according to the new Swedish school reform. She is currently concluding an additional Bachelor degree in Italian linguistic and literature at Stockholm University. She has several years of experience in teaching languages in Europe (Italy, Spain, France and Sweden), 10 of which at IEGS.

Ms. Sang is originally from Australia. Mr. van Staalduine, Math and Head of Pavlov House
Mr Matthijs van Staalduine has a master's degree in Mathematics and Education from the Technical University Delft in The Netherlands. He has worked in The Netherlands at a high school, and moved to Sweden in 2012. He first worked at IES Nacka and later at IES Skärholmen as the Head of Senior School.
