IEGS Language Students Win Trips to China

The Modern Languages Department recently announced that three students who read Chinese Mandarin at Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet school have participated in a Chinese bridge competition arranged by the Chinese embassy and that three of them have won major prizes.

Gabriella Overodder and Veronica Stonko (S2D) shared second prize and Joel Ivre (S3B) won third prize.

The second prize is a one year scholarship to study Chinese at university in China.

The students can choose the university they want to study in.

Third prize is a cultural exchange trip to China.

"I want to thank our Mandarin teacher Yanhong Ku for her dedication and for her great work," said Director of Studies, Mr Mohsen Kouba. "This is a wonderful achievement by everyone involved."
