IEGS Students Visit Berlin

By Lydia Barsawme

Ten final year gymnasium students went on an epic journey to Berlin in order to improve their language skills and to experience German culture.

Clash of the classes

Seeing all of Berlin in just four days is impossible, but they saw a large enough amount of Berlin's attractrions. Not only the tourist highlights, but modern as well as old history and art were also covered. Among other things, the students got to see the Reichstag (the German parliament), the Deutsche Historisches Museum (German historical museum), the Alte Nationale Gallerie (Old Art Gallery) and the monument of the Jews which were murdered during the Nazi regime. The group had plenty of opportunity to speak with the locals to practice their German, but they also bonded with each other in ways that only an adventure can bring about. It was an unforgettable experience, that all involved would do again if given the chance.
