It’s the most wonderful time of the year again!
In school there has been no shortage of activities, workshops, or reflective moments to get us in the mood for the festive season.
At this time of year, I do like to look back over the fall term, and reflect on all the great things we have been doing and have achieved. 2023 was predicted to be a year for creativity, and I must admit, the House Teams have not disappointed. In my Principal's Message at the end of term show, I shared my excitement with our students letting them know that I have been most impressed by their House Spirit which has been thriving throughout the school. Our student leadership teams have taken a lead in organising our assemblies celebrating students' talents and success in and out of the classroom. They have also taken ownership of their House Hallways which have been decorated in various themes this term recognising celebrations such as House themes, Halloween and the current holiday season. It is a true joy coming into school each day, and I can’t wait to see what the Spring Term will bring!
Now the holidays are a time to relax, celebrate, and be with loved ones. It is also a time to reflect on the goals we have been working towards. Take the time to think about the individuals that we want to be, and to see if we are working towards those goals, or if we have lost a little of our way. The new year brings with it promises of hope and new beginnings. And so I encourage you to use the break to reflect on your learning experiences so far this academic year, and think about what changes and goals you may set in the new year, when we return to school in January.
On behalf of our IEGS team, I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season.
