How to Apply

You are here

Important information

  • If you have not studied year 9 Swedish you will have to go to a Language Introductory Programme before you can start any Swedish national programme (even at IEGS). You can find information regarding this at Gymnasieantagningen, which is also where you apply. Please note that this does not apply to the IB programme.

  • You can apply to a Swedish gymnasium up until the year you turn 19.

  • To start a Swedish gymnasium you will need a Swedish personal number. You can find information regarding this at Skatteverket and Migrationsverket. If you have questions regarding this when you apply, please contact Gymnasieantagningen. Please note that the school does not have anything to do with the process of obtaining a Swedish personal number, this is all done privately.

  • You always need to start in year 1 of the national programmes - you can not transfer from other systems to year 2 or 3. Please note that this does not always apply to the IB programme.

  • Students who apply to the IB programme will need to take an assessement test and students who apply to the Aesthetics programme will need to do an audition/send in a portfolio.
  • We do not have boarding or provide boarding, student housing will need to be arranged privately.
