What an incredible event, the IHC Song is one that both students and staff at IEGS really look forward to each year. To be able to sing in such harmony, acapella, is just amazing. The amount of practice, work and dedication that goes into this event is just phenomenal. Seeing an entire house, first years to third years, come together, cooperate and sing is always special. This years song choices were as great as usual; Curie singing I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys, King singing Riptide by Vance Joy, Pavlov singing It’s Time by Imagine Dragons and Russell singing Valerie by Glee.
Last week we had our IHC Ensemble competition, which is one of the more anticipated events and the one that definitely requires the most practice. Each house puts together their team and chooses a song that they think will bring home the win. It takes weeks of practice, patience and persistence, but the end result is definitely worth all the hard work. This year we had King House performing “Chandelier” by Sia, Russell House performing “The Angel of Small Death” by Hozier, Curie House performing “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand and Pavlov House performing “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling Stones
As every year this years song competition has taken place. It's always a great event to both watch and be a part of as the many talents of the students here at IEGS are displayed. It's both a fun and a challenge to work together as one house, first by choosing a song and then having to coordinated everyone so sing on point and on key! It really does bring out the best in us all, giving us the chance to show our creative and fun side and at the same time bringing us all together. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by the students participating is a real joy to watch!
